Kirsty Elliott-Sale is an Assistant Professor of Female Physiology, specializing in research on female athletes. Currently, she serves as a leading pharmacist in acute medicine at the NHS and has been a lecturer at the University of Manchester since March 2022. Her work focuses on women’s health, with a particular emphasis on physiology and the impact of hormones on athletic performance.
Professional Career
Kirsty has dedicated her career to understanding how the menstrual cycle, hormones, and contraceptives affect female athletes. She has conducted studies on hormonal changes during pregnancy and their impact on muscles, significantly contributing to knowledge in this field. Additionally, she has worked as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and as a freelance lecturer in female physiology between 2019 and 2022. Her academic and professional expertise has enabled her to lead key projects on women’s health and performance.
