
Martino Franchi
Currently
Martino V. Franchi is an Assistant Professor (TT) of Skeletal Muscle Physiology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Padova, a position he has held since June 2019. He has been a Faculty Member at the Football Science Institute since January 2020, contributing to the Master's programs in Reconditioning and Injury Prevention in Football. Additionally, he collaborates as a Researcher with the Sports Medicine group at Universitätsklinik Balgrist. With over 142 scientific publications, he is a recognized authority in the field of skeletal muscle remodeling.
Professional Career
Martino began his career as a postdoctoral researcher in Skeletal Muscle Physiology at the University of Nottingham, where he participated in BBSRC-funded projects in the UK (2013–2017). He then worked as a researcher at Universitätsklinik Balgrist in Switzerland (2017–2019), specializing in muscle plasticity. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned experts in biomechanics and performance physiology, such as Professor Marco Narici and Dr. Jörg Spörri.
