Lasse Lempainen, born on 5 November 1978, is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mehiläinen NEO Hospital, Turku, and adjunct professor of sports orthopaedics at the University of Turku, Finland. Dr Lempainen is specialized in lower extremity injuries, especially in muscle – tendon problems: hamstring, rectus femoris, adductor and Achilles injuries. He has active research career in the field of muscle – tendon problems mainly focusing on their diagnostics, treatment modalities and surgical technique. In clinical practice Dr Lempainen does collaboration with several football clubs e.g., FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, AS Roma, Parma Calcio, FC Zenit and Dynamo Moscow.
