Tim Meyer
Dr Tim Meyer is a medical doctor at the Institute of Sports and Preventive Medicine of Saarland University at Saarbrucken, Germany; and Team Doctor of the German National Football Team. He is Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, Editor (together with Franco Impellizzeri) of the regular special issue of the Journal of Sports Science: "Science and Medicine in Football”, Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal Sports Medicine - Open, Associate Editor (Clinical Sports Medicine) of the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, Adjunct Professor at University of Technology Sydney, Australia, Member of the Medical Committee of the German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB), Chairman of the Medical Committee of UEFA, and Chair of the Sports Medicine Committee of the German Football Federation (DFB). Meyer´s main areas of research are clinical exercise physiology, recovery and training prescription with a special focus on football. Under his supervision, several training studies have been conducted in elite and recreational athletes (altogether over 100 publications in internationally referenced peer-reviewed journals).
