Academic background: He graduated in June 2013 in Bologna University as a Medical Doctor with 110/110 cum laude, with a research project on “Predictors of midterm outcome following ACLR”, then completed his Sports and Exercise Medicine residency in December 2018 in Bologna University with a votation of 110/110 cum laude and a research project on “Qualitative Movement Analysis as a predictor of 2nd ACL injury following ACLR and Return to Play”, and carried out a Fellowship in Biomechanics and ACL injuries treatment at the University of Southern California (USC) with Prof Christopher Powers PhD and Dr Bert Mandelbaum MD (Cedar Sinai Kerlain Jobe Institute) in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, CA.
