Currently: Director of Sport Science & Research Leader at Nucleo of High Performance of Sao Paulo (NAR-SP), and scientific coordinator of postgraduate courses in training methodology for high performance and sports medicine at the Federal University of Sao Paul. He advises and works with high performance athletes from Brazil.
Research activity: (>110 JCR papers), Irineu stands out for his studies of application of strength training in football players (part of them carried out with the best teams in Brazil and with the Brazilian National football team)
