09 Jan Sprint in Soccer: Use or lose
Sprint actions are crucial in soccer and there are three reasons that support this statement: (a) these actions are related to “game performance indicators” (Modric et al., 2019), (b) linear sprint is the most frequent action prior to the goal (Faude et al., 2012), and (c) top-class soccer players perform more sprinting exposures than moderate category players (Mohr et al ., 2003).
“Sprint actions are related to “game performance indicators” (Modric et al., 2019), linear sprint is the most frequent action prior to the goal (Faude et al., 2012)”
In this sense, the FSI teacher Jean B Morin in the three links below gives us suggestions to know: the importance of the sprint training in the soccer player, why it is important to subject the player to sprint exposures, reasons for not be afraid in sprint workouts, and finally, why sprint is the only way to improve sprint conditions.
