Francisco Javier Ruiz Bonilla, known as Javi Ruiz, has been the goalkeeper coach for the Qatar National Team since December 2023. His coaching career has taken him to collaborate with teams and national squads across Europe, Asia, and Africa, specializing in goalkeeper training.

Professional Career

As a player, Javi started in the youth ranks of FC Barcelona, later joining teams such as Gimnàstic de Tarragona, UD Almería, and RCD Espanyol, among others. After retiring in 2012, he began his career as a goalkeeper coach at KAS Eupen in Belgium, where he worked for five years. In 2017, he joined Tianjin Quanjian in the Chinese Super League, as part of Paulo Sousa's technical staff. He later worked with teams like Al Shahania SC in Qatar (2019-2020) and the Libyan National Team under Javier Clemente.
In 2021, he returned to KAS Eupen before joining AEK Larnaca in Cyprus in 2023. Since December 2023, he has been part of the Qatar National Team’s coaching staff, working again with Tintín Márquez. His international experience and ability to adapt to diverse cultural contexts make him a reference in his field.
