Óscar Perarnau
Currently
Óscar Perarnau is a UEFA PRO-licensed national coach with qualifications from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the Catalan Football Federation, the International University of La Rioja, the University of Lleida, and the Túrbula School. He is a professor at several renowned institutions, including the University of Lleida (INEFC), LaLiga Business School, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and the Coaches’ Technical Committee of the Catalan Football Federation, where he has been awarded the Gold Badge for his sports career, the highest distinction granted by this organization.
Professional Background
With more than two decades of experience in football, Óscar has developed his career across both youth and professional categories. During 11 seasons in youth football, he coached various RCD Espanyol SAD teams, from U-12 to U-19, and served as the assistant coach for the reserve team in the 2007-2008 season. Later, in professional football, he worked as assistant coach of RCD Espanyol’s first team during the 2008-2009 season and as head coach of the reserve team from 2009 to 2010. Subsequently, he held various roles within the club’s Technical Department, including Sports Director (2012-2016) and General Sports Director (2017-2019), leading the club’s sporting strategy during one of its most significant periods.
Academic Background
In addition to his extensive practical experience, Óscar is an active educator in training new professionals in football. He teaches in the Master’s Program in Direction, Methodology, and Analysis in Football at the RFEF and the official Master’s in Sports Management at LaLiga Business School, among others. His focus lies in team management and the development of sports strategies, sharing the knowledge he has acquired throughout his career as a coach and manager in elite football.
