Rob Duffield

Currently

Professor Rob Duffield is part of the Sport and Exercise Discipline Group within the Faculty of Health at UTS. His research focuses on fatigue, recovery, and performance in sport, as well as exercise for improving health and fitness. Since August 2017, he has served as Director of HDR Students, and since July 2020, as Director of Honours Students within the faculty.

Professional Background

Rob has conducted extensive research across various aspects of sports science, focusing on fatigue and recovery, exercising in heat conditions, and the effects of sleep and travel on recovery. He collaborates with industry partners in high-performance sports such as football, tennis, and cricket. His work also includes exploring the role of exercise in reducing risk factors associated with chronic diseases, targeting sedentary populations such as Indigenous Australians and smokers.

Academic Background

Rob has held several administrative roles at UTS, including Associate Dean of Research, where he has contributed to advancing health-related research initiatives. His academic expertise allows him to influence the education of future professionals and the development of high-impact research programs.
