Fabio Nakamura is the Director of the FSI Lab, leading the scientific strategy and applied research projects developed by FSI Training in collaboration with partner clubs and organisations.

He is a professor at Universidade da Maia and an associate editor of leading scientific journals such as Science and Medicine in Football, combining university teaching with high-impact research in football.
Professional background
With over a decade dedicated to football performance research, he has published more than 70 scientific articles focused on movement analysis, training load monitoring, and recovery processes.
He has collaborated with professional clubs such as Sporting Clube de Braga and with national teams, including the Brazil national team, applying sport science to performance optimisation and injury prevention.
His work is characterised by the use of advanced tools such as heart rate variability to monitor training adaptation, consolidating his position as one of the leading figures in applied football science.
