His role at FSI Training
José Naranjo Orellana is part of the FSI Training faculty, contributing an expert and rigorous perspective in exercise physiology and sports medicine applied to football, with a direct focus on high performance.
Currently
He is a Professor of Exercise Physiology at Universidad Pablo de Olavide, a position he has held since 2006, where he is involved in university teaching and academic activity within the field of sport sciences.
Since 2019, he has also collaborated as an associate professor at FSI Training, contributing to several educational programmes related to physiology, sports medicine, and the understanding of the body’s responses to exercise.
Professional background
He served as Head of Medical Services at Sevilla FC between 2011 and 2014, and has also worked as an external consultant for Real Betis and as a physician for the Spanish women’s national football team, gaining extensive experience in professional football.
His career includes leading medical services and exercise physiology laboratories within sports organisations, as well as involvement in international competitions. His area of expertise focuses on heart rate variability and the study of physiological adaptations to exercise, both key areas for performance optimisation.
