Alfredo Santalla is part of the Football Science Institute faculty and serves as Director of Studies of the Master’s Degree in Football Strength and Conditioning, bringing a strong scientific foundation applied to physical performance in professional football.

He is currently a Professor of Exercise Physiology at Pablo de Olavide University (Spain), where he carries out teaching and research activities in the fields of sport physiology and human performance.

Through these roles, he leads the education of new specialists in physical performance and sport science, combining scientific research with its practical application in elite football.

Alfredo holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Sport Sciences and has built a distinguished career as an exercise physiologist and sport scientist. His research activity focuses on performance assessment, training load monitoring and physiological adaptations in football.

Throughout his career, he has worked as an external consultant in exercise physiology, training load monitoring and nutrition for the first team of Real Betis Balompié, contributing to performance optimization and data-informed decision-making in professional football.

His professional profile combines laboratory-based work with direct on-field application, specializing in physiological player assessment, biological monitoring, individualized training and the design of nutritional and ergogenic strategies for elite athletes.
