Criciúma establishes international partnership with the Football Science Institute

The two-year agreement provides for cooperation in sports science and opens up opportunities for students to gain practical experience at the club.

Criciúma Esporte Clube has established an international partnership with the Football Science Institute (FSI), a Spanish institution dedicated to education and the development of scientific knowledge applied to football. The agreement runs for two years and establishes a framework for cooperation focused on professional development and the advancement of sports science within the club.

From scientific knowledge to the daily demands of elite football

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic and scientific knowledge and the day-to-day demands of elite football, contributing to the ongoing professional development of staff and the improvement of practices related to health, physical preparation, injury prevention and player recovery.

Practical placements for FSI students

The agreement also provides for the possibility of students and professionals in training enrolled in FSI educational programmes undertaking voluntary practical placements at Criciúma’s facilities.

Participation will depend on the availability of placements communicated by the club, the assessment of candidates and the selection process conducted by Criciúma.

The Football Science Institute offers educational programmes across various areas of sports science applied to football, including strength and conditioning, tactical analysis, sports nutrition, physiotherapy, injury rehabilitation and high-performance coaching.
