Real Valladolid and the Football Science Institute have agreed to renew the alliance established in 2022 to provide the Club with an academic and scientific structure in Sports Sciences applied to football, enabling the club’s staff to update their knowledge and improve their daily performance. Under this agreement, Pucela also hosts FSI postgraduate students, who will complement their education by completing professional internships within the club’s organizational structure.

Backed by the track record of its four master’s directors, the FSI faculty is made up of more than 130 members with high academic and practical qualifications, from more than 55 professional football clubs worldwide. Through seven master’s programs in different performance areas, the Institute provides all the knowledge required in the professional football environment. It also has FSI LAB, which contributes to the creation and development of scientific knowledge by publishing its research in various specialized journals.

Notable names at FSI include strength and conditioning coach Bernardo Requena, formerly of Sevilla FC, Athletic, Real Madrid and the Spanish U21 team; Jesús Olmo, former head of medical services at Real Madrid and the Spanish national rugby team; Jack Nayler, linked to sports science at organizations such as Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea; and David Joyce, with experience at English side Blackburn Rovers, Turkish club Galatasaray, and the Great Britain and China Olympic teams in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
