Nico Estévez is part of the FSI faculty, bringing an elite coaching perspective developed across youth development, professional club environments, and international football.

He contributes an applied methodological approach through his class “Possession Games VS Invasion Games”, focused on decision-making, structure, and game understanding.

Currently

He is currently the head coach of Austin FC in Major League Soccer, where he leads the team in a highly competitive professional environment in the United States.

Professional background

He began his coaching career at CF San José, working across youth categories and later taking on roles in technical direction and methodological development within the club structure.

He later joined the academy system of Valencia CF, where he developed his coaching profile across multiple youth teams before becoming head coach of Valencia Mestalla and later serving as interim head coach of the first team in La Liga.

In 2014, he moved to the United States to join Columbus Crew SC as Director of Methodology, later becoming assistant coach for the first team and working in high-performance professional environments in Major League Soccer.

He also served as assistant coach for the U.S. Soccer Federation, contributing to the senior national team setup during a successful period that included the 2021 Concacaf Nations League and Gold Cup titles.

He later returned to club football as head coach of FC Dallas, before taking on his current role at Austin FC, continuing his career in elite professional environments across different football cultures.
