His role at FSI Training
Rob Duffield is part of the FSI Training faculty, contributing a leading academic perspective on fatigue, recovery and sport performance, as well as on the application of exercise for health improvement within high-performance environments.
Currently
He is Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), within the Sport and Exercise Discipline Group in the Faculty of Health. He also holds academic leadership roles overseeing higher degree research and honours students.
Professional background
His research has focused extensively on fatigue and recovery in sport, exercise in the heat, and the effects of sleep and travel on performance. He collaborates regularly with high-performance organisations in football, tennis and cricket, translating scientific evidence into applied practice.
He has also investigated the role of exercise in reducing risk factors associated with chronic diseases, analysing variables such as body composition, systemic inflammation and glucose regulation. His work integrates applied research with academic leadership in internationally recognised programmes.
