His role at FSI Training

Sergio Jiménez Rubio is part of the FSI Training faculty, contributing extensive expertise in rehabilitation, reconditioning, and injury prevention in professional football, integrating scientific research with applied high-performance practice.

Currently

He serves as Rehab & Reconditioning Coach at Paris Saint-Germain, working with first-team elite athletes to design and implement advanced readaptation and reconditioning processes. He is also a Researcher and Lecturer at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, teaching prevention and reconditioning strategies in sport.

Professional background

His career combines over two decades of experience in professional football with academic research. He has worked in top-flight Spanish football with Getafe CF and Real Valladolid, leading rehabilitation and strength and conditioning processes for injured players and overseeing injury prevention strategies during competitive seasons.

Alongside his club roles, he has developed research focused on the response of injured tissue to physical exercise, neuromuscular control, and strength reconditioning in common football injuries such as hamstring and rectus femoris strains. He has also taught in specialized master’s programs on injury prevention and football reconditioning.

At FSI Training, he contributes to the Masters in Sports Performance, Injury Management, and Football Science, delivering applied sessions on rehabilitation processes, neuromuscular control, and high-performance reconditioning in elite football, providing a structured bridge between clinical recovery and return to play.
