His role at FSI Training

Thomas Dos’Santos is part of the FSI Training faculty, contributing specialised expertise in change of direction biomechanics and the development of multidirectional speed in football.

His approach integrates strength, power and movement control with injury prevention principles applied to high-performance sport.

Currently

He is Reader in Strength and Conditioning & Sports Biomechanics at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he conducts research focused on the biomechanical determinants of performance and injury risk.

He is also co-founder of Science of Multi-directional Speed and collaborates with professional environments in strength and movement profiling.

Professional background

Throughout his career, he has worked as a strength and conditioning coach with clubs such as Manchester United FC and Salford City FC, as well as with England Para-football programmes.

With more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications, his work focuses on change of direction biomechanics, anterior cruciate ligament and hamstring injury prevention, and the optimisation of strength for performance.
