Tim Friedrich Meyer is part of the FSI Training faculty, contributing a top-level medical and scientific perspective in football medicine, exercise physiology, and recovery management within high-performance environments.

Currently

He is Medical Director and Full Professor at the Institute of Sports and Preventive Medicine at Saarland University, and serves as Chair of the UEFA Medical Committee and of the German Football Association Medical Committee.

Professional background

He has an extensive academic and applied career in professional football, playing a key role in the development of the UEFA return-to-play protocols and in the establishment of international medical standards.

His research focuses on clinical exercise physiology, recovery, and training prescription, having supervised numerous studies with elite athletes and published more than 100 scientific articles in leading journals.

He is also the author and editor of several key works in football medicine, integrating scientific evidence and applied experience to enhance player protection, load management, and medical decision-making in professional football.
