His role at FSI Training

Aaron Coutts is a member of the Football Science Institute faculty, contributing a scientific and applied perspective on high performance built on decades of research and experience in elite professional environments.

Currently

He is a Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (Australia) and is widely recognised as a world-leading researcher in the field of Sport Science.

He serves on the International Advisory Board of the Nike© Research Laboratory and is an Associate Editor for high-impact scientific journals such as International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance and Science and Medicine in Football.

Professional background

His professional and research activity focuses primarily on training load monitoring, training in altitude and heat conditions, and the analysis of physiological demands of competition, across both football and Australian football.

He has developed much of the scientific knowledge that is currently applied worldwide in the monitoring and management of training load in professional football.

His experience as a consultant and head of performance includes work with professional teams in football, Australian football, and rugby. He also served as Director of the Sport Science Department at Carlton Football Club (Australia).
