FSI Launches the New Master’s in Applied Football Nutrition: The Step Modern Football Demanded

Nutrition has become one of the most decisive variables in elite football performance. For this reason, FSI Training has completely redesigned its program to launch a 12-month Master’s that connects physiology, load monitoring, health, supplementation, and real-world application in elite clubs, alongside some of the most internationally recognized researchers and practitioners.

Nutrition is no longer a detail in professional football. It is a competitive advantage.

For years, FSI Training offered a four-month nutrition program that played an important role within our community. But football has evolved. And nutrition has evolved with it.

Today, decisions related to energy availability, recovery, microbiota, biomarkers, and nutritional periodization directly influence performance, availability, and player longevity. That is why we have not simply “updated” the program: we have rebuilt it.

The result is a 12-month Master’s program structured into 12 modules, addressing nutrition applied to football from physiological foundations to real-world implementation within professional clubs.

If Football Evolves, Nutrition Must Too

This program is not a collection of isolated topics. It is a coherent structure that connects physiology with the daily demands of elite performance.

The Master’s covers key areas such as energy metabolism and availability, muscle adaptation and tendon health, microbiota and personalized nutrition, load monitoring and the use of biomarkers, match-day nutrition and congested schedules, evidence-based supplementation, and the implementation of nutritional programs in professional environments.

From the laboratory to the locker room. From the paper to practice.

A Faculty That Makes the Difference

To build this program, we have brought together some of the most influential professionals and researchers in nutrition and sport science worldwide.

The Master’s is academically directed by Anja Horina and Graeme Close, two leading figures in applied football nutrition. Their involvement reinforces FSI Training’s commitment to evidence-based education designed for real club environments.

They are joined by specialists such as Stuart Phillips, Keith Baar, Aaron Coutts, Andreas Kasper, Tim Meyer, Shawn Arent and many others, integrated within a solid and progressive educational structure.

And many more. You can view the full faculty here.

Greater Depth, Real-World Context

This Master’s goes beyond theory. It is designed to apply knowledge to real scenarios within professional football.

The program includes specific contexts such as women’s football, youth development, performance in heat, nutrition during Ramadan, international tournaments, congested match schedules, hormonal health and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), as well as rehabilitation processes and return to performance after injury.

The final modules connect science and behavior, addressing behavioral change, sustainability, anti-doping, and real knowledge transfer: from research to competitive performance.

A New Standard in Production and Fully Dubbed Content

This launch also marks a qualitative leap in the educational experience. The technological evolution implemented by FSI Training has elevated the audiovisual quality of the program to a new standard, offering a more immersive and professional experience.

For the first time, all content will be available dubbed in Spanish, making it accessible to a wider international audience. The content will also remain available in its original language, preserving each lecturer’s voice and context.

Launch Date and Special Conditions

The Master’s in Applied Football Nutrition will be available for enrollment on February 23, 2026.

Modules will be released monthly, allowing for progressive and structured learning throughout the academic year. To celebrate the launch, early enrollees will receive a 20 percent discount on the official price.

We will also be announcing an important update related to this program very soon.

Not Just Another Master’s

Nutrition is no longer a secondary variable. It is a strategic performance tool. And this Master’s is designed to become an international benchmark in applied football nutrition.
